More than any other trade show on the planet, Bauma, hosted every three years in Munich, Germany, is a walking show. After spending nearly a whole week at this year’s show, I checked my Apple Watch activity stats and found that I averaged nearly 10 miles of walking each day at the show thanks to countless trips up and down the “expressway” that cuts through the Munich convention center’s 18-building layout and in and out of the gargantuan outdoor exhibition area.
According to show managers, a record 620,000+ people from more than 200 countries visited this year’s show. Apart from the crowds this was the largest Bauma yet in sheer size with more than 3,700 exhibitors spread across 2.1 million square feet of indoor exhibit space and an additional 4.5 million square feet of outdoor space.
Only slightly behind the number of steps my watch logged during the show are the number of images I grabbed with my camera with the goal of giving our readers a feeling of what being at this show is like. So, over the next few weeks or so I’m going to be posting four photo galleries chronicling this year’s Bauma show: three equipment galleries and one truck gallery. Part 1 is here and the truck gallery is here.
And you can check out our full Bauma coverage, which is still being added to daily, by clicking here.
