Calling HVAC guys and gals.

I've been considering going into HVAC. i work for a small 4-man crew installing rain gutters for a bigger roofing company that has branched out to HVAC. I was told today that they were looking to hire people with or without experience and I'm really wanting a career. I also want to work for a company that takes care of their employees as the one i work for now doesn't.

can you guys tell me your personal pros/cons of this trade? what hours are like? the rest of the internet says you can kiss holidays and weekends goodbye but i feel like it depends on who you work for?

also, I'm a 26 y/o male in Oregon if that matters.
