I just moved into a house that needs doing up, and the ceiling is confirmed to be Artex containing Asbestos. When I moved in, there was a corner of the living room where the ceiling drooped down due to an upstairs leak. I (stupidly) had my grandfather saw out a 1.25m x 0.75m section of the ceiling and replace it with plasterboard, which has been nailed in and painted over. I then learned how deadly Asbestos can be.
We did (extensively) vacuum and mop the affected area up, and there was no 'dust cloud' or anything. It's been a number of months since this happened....should I be concerned about any health dangers? I did a lot of research and the consensus seems to be that you need to be a handyman to suffer from Asbestos; a single instance of dust shouldn't really do anything. Can it still be lingering around after months of cleaning?
