Incoming project engineer for a general contractor. Tips to educate myself on general building practices/procedures for all disciplines?
Does anyone here know of any online or printed resources that could help me learn the basics of plumbing, wiring, dry wall, casework, roofing, etc? Just enough information so I can hold conversations with subcontracts without them explaining to me every minute detail. For the record, most of the projects this company does are large to mega-sized ($10's to 100's of millions)
As a bit of background, I have already had one internship with this company, but most of my work was preconstruction, and therefore I did not develop my technical abilities. Any resources ya'll recommend would be great! Even if it's like "wiring your house for dummies" manual.
