Hey /r/construction!
So a quick TLDR of my background. I owned and operated a commercial drywall company with my dad for a long time until he unfortunately got cancer and decided to sell the company... which he rightfully did and he is very much enjoying retirement. Only thing is he was very "old school" and for all my management and estimating experience he and I were at salary for $25/hr. Because of the "well you'll appreciate this when I give the company to you and you want to retire". Which I get but then he sold and I didnt get a dime (Knowing him it will be inheritance money, he thinks far ahead like that). So Ive basically had a year off from management and have been working as a journeyman for hourly wage but am moving soon and have been offered a project manager position for a company out of the east coast doing drywall subcontracting again...
Sooooo my question is basically for a ~$250mil company out of the east coast doing project management what is a salary I should ask for? I've gone through three preliminary interviews and have a face to face with them in two weeks and I was going to ask for ~$60k-$65k a year. Is that too much? Too little? What would be an appropriate amount to ask for?
thanks for all input and good luck on all your projects in 2019!
