A Question for Framers/Carpenters

Hello folks, I just had a quick question for those here working as carpenters/framing specialists.

Today I had some carpenters working on site and they had to stop work in an area because wall they were framing up was ending in the middle of a window? Can anyone explain to me why that is an issue? My best guess is that you would want a joint between the 2*4s where the window is as that is the weak spot for moisture an water. Having the ends there will open up for an accelerated rot?
