Advice on takeoff software

I work primarily in lumber sales doing commercial construction projects. Most projects I do are turn key framing for lumber and labor. If I miss something it is on my companies dime so I have to be very thourogh.

On almost everything I do a hard take off by printing a plan and going page by page. In order to grow I need to be able to quote more things. What software do you guys recommend?
I will probably be on my own to pay the bill for the software, so price is a concern. I am fairly tech savvy, and want something that can work on mobile if possible so I can pull up my takeoffs and notes in the field.

As always I am very grateful for the time people take to help a stranger.
